About YEAUXLEAUX

Welcome to YEAUXLEAUX! I’m so glad you’re here to join me as I document the world one snapshot, snack, and silly story at a time. This blog is my little corner of the internet where I share my globetrotting escapades—from work trips that go sideways (hello, canceled flights!) to roller derby bouts in places you didn’t know had roller derby. And of course, I can’t forget the leisurely jaunts that leave my camera roll full and my feet happily sore.

YEAUXLEAUX is a travel blog with personality. It’s not just about the stunning landscapes or the perfectly plated food shots—though I do love those. Here, it’s all about the candid moments, the unexpected detours, and the quirky encounters that make travel a little more human. It’s the kind of blog where you might come for the travel tips but stay for the laughs.

What You’ll Find Here

  • Photo Stories: I love capturing the big views, the hidden gems, and everything in between, because a picture is worth a thousand words (but I’ll still write a few hundred to go with it).
  • Roller Derby Adventures: The roller derby life isn’t all fishnets and rink rash; it’s also about the unique places I play, the people I meet, and the post-bout snacks I devour.
  • Travel Tales: From road trips to international excursions, YEAUXLEAUX highlights the triumphs, mishaps, and Instagram-worthy pit stops of every journey.
  • Tips & Tricks: No gatekeeping here! I share my favorite travel hacks, gear recommendations, and itinerary ideas.

Why “YEAUXLEAUX”?

The name’s a nod to my Louisiana roots, where “eaux” is how we say “oh.” It’s pronounced the same as “YOLO” (because yes, you do only live once), but it comes with a Cajun twist. It’s about embracing life, savoring the journey, and snapping a few too many photos along the way.

Hi, I’m Haley Aurora (they/them), the voice behind YEAUXLEAUX! I’ve always had a love for storytelling, whether through words, photos, or the occasional roller derby adventure. When I’m not busy working as an art director or announcing roller derby bouts, you can usually find me on the road or in the skies, chasing new experiences and filling my camera roll with memories. I’m also unapologetically queer, and I believe in celebrating the diversity and authenticity that makes every journey—and every traveler—unique.

Travel has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I’ve explored everything from bustling cities to quiet countryside hideaways, always looking for the unique stories each place has to tell. My background in visual communication gives me an eye for the little details, and my love for humor ensures that even the most chaotic travel moments get turned into tales worth sharing. At the end of the day, YEAUXLEAUX is all about celebrating the journey—and I’m so glad to have you along for the ride!

So, whether you’re here to plan your next adventure, relive the chaos of a roller derby road trip, or simply escape into someone else’s travel tales, YEAUXLEAUX is your digital departure lounge. Thanks for coming along for the ride—let’s make it a memorable one!
